On the farms of company Bioplod Lika d.d. in the county of Lika in 2016th, research has been conducted about breeding, health and welfare of sheep. The research was conducted on two flocks of sheep, breed „Licka pramenka“. One of flocks was in the transition period of organic production, while the other was allready in organic production. Native breed of Licka pramenka is the best solution for breeding on that area. The assumption was confirmed in those flocks that were a subject of the research, since all prescribed principles of breeding, welfare and sheep health protection are met in keeping with the keeping systems. Health status of both flocks is satisfiing. Flock A, that is in transition period of organic production, had a bit higher number of present parasites after treatment with antiparasitics. The same preparation was used on flock A second year in a row (maybe even more, because we do not have earlier informations), so a worth health status was noted which could be explained by the possibility of creating resistance. In the flock B, change of preparation showed better results.. The assumption that the sheep's flock in organic breeding will be worse than the sheep's health status, was discarded. Thus, based on the conducted research it can be concluded that every year antiparasitic should be changed in order not to create resistance, or to ensure good sheep health. However, the types of parasites that may be the cause of a greater number of serious illnesses and deaths of sheep have been successfully suppressed in both herds - in both flocks were found to have the same errors in terms of nutrition that was not sufficient for sheep for lamb and additional milk production, which had a negative impact on the welfare of sheep in the said stage of production, lamb expansion and the quantity and quality of milk (decrease in fat content in milk).
